Peyote People is a must visit destination when you’re in the Centro district of Puerto Vallarta. Just two blocks from the Malecon and water front, Peyote People is a small fair trade co-operative that has a wide array of Huichol bead and yarn art. Recognized by the Huichol Indian Traditional Government of San Andres Cohamaita for promoting their artwork as well as the preservation of their customs and traditions.
Many places in Puerto Vallarta and throughout Mexico sell Huichol art, but at Peyote People, you can make sure you’re getting authentic artwork from indians who still ive in the nearby San Madre mountains. Prices vary, but are reasonable considering the work that goes into each piece. Prices range from $15 to $300+ USD. Don’t buy anything until you’ve stopped by here. You’ll be glad you did.
