Idaho Spud Bar

Idaho Spud Candy BarOkay, so it’s not exactly a place to eat, but it is something you can eat.  While I have to admit that I do have a candy bar weakness, I try to avoid them.  One that I’ve always liked for years, that’s sold regionally throughout the Northwestern US is the “Idaho Spud” candy bar.  The Idaho Spud is similar in taste and consistency to the pink, coconut covered “SnoBall”‘s in the snack section of your supermarket.   Here’s a description of the candy bar from the Idaho Candy Company’s website:

“The popular Idaho Spud Bar is a wonderful combination of a light cocoa flavored, soft marshmallow center drenched with a dark chocolate coating and then sprinkled with coconut (Sorry, no potato!). The potato shape and unique blend of ingredients appeals to both young and old, making the “Idaho Spud” one of the top hundred selling candy bars in the Northwest, and is Idaho Candy Company’s best selling bar. The Idaho Spud Bar has been a favorite since it was first manufactured in 1918.”

Lucky for you, if you don’t live in the US Northwest, you can order directly from the Idaho Candy Company website.  Even if you don’t want to order a whole box, they do have a new package of “bite-size” versions for less than $5.  If you’re going to order something, throw in a box of the Butter Toffee as well.  You won’t be disappointed.
