Savored – A Great Way to Save When Dining Out
A few weeks ago, we checked out Savored. For $10, you can save 30% off your entire restaurant bill. That’s not just food, but alcohol as well. We’ve just tried Savored once, but it works like a charm. We saved over $60. No coupons, no hassles. When you receive your bill, 30% is automatically deducted from the total.
What’s the catch? Well, today, Savored is only available in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington D.C. Savored promises other cities are coming soon. A couple of other things to be aware of is not all restaurants are available every night, plus reservations on weekends are usually for those who dine early (5-6:30PM) or later (after 9PM). You must make your reservation through the Savored website and show up no later than 15 minutes past your reservation time.
We think Savored is a great idea and hope that they continue to add more cities and restaurants to their service. It’s free to sign up, so wander on over and take a look. It’s a good way to save on your next meal out. Plus, don’t forget to tip your server on the full amount of the bill.

Local Deals on Travelzoo
In case you’ve missed it, Travelzoo now has a section dedicated to “local deals” that go beyond just hotel stays. While similar to some of the local deals offered by Groupon or LivingSocial, Travelzoo‘s offer great deals at more “upscale” venues. If you subscribe to their weekly email newsletter, you’ll also get email alerts whenever “local deals” in your area are added. Check out the list of cities where they currently have offers. Even if you don’t live there, if you’re planning a trip there soon, you may be able to take advantage of some great offers.
Sneak Away with Snique Away
We’re always on the lookout for ways to get the lowest rates at the best places to stay all over the world. There’s a new player in the business of providing 4 and 5 star accommodations at rock-bottom pricing. Welcome to Snique Away. Snique Away offers only hotels that are highly rated on TripAdvisor. TripAdvisor’s ratings are driven by real travelers who have stayed at each property. Why Snique Away? A lot of highly rated properties never advertise sales directly to the public. They feel it “cheapens” the “brand” and then they lose “exclusivity”. Snique Away is an “invitation-only” website, which means that these hotels can control who can book special rates and deals, yet keep them “off the web” to the general public. Think of Snique Away as the big bouncer behind the velvet rope, who controls whether your part of the “in-crowd” or just a plain-old everybody. So how do you get in on the deals. Simple. Ask for an invitation. It’s not immediate, but hopefully you’ll receive yours in a week or so, so you can be “in” on some of the best deals around. We just received our invitation, so we’ll come back with a full report after we’ve had a chance to see what they offer. The site opens to invited guests on September 20.
