Before you make reservations at one of the “high end” hotel restaurants with a popular celebrity chefs name, make sure you make time to visit Firefly. Sure, it may be in a strip mall. Of course, it’s not on the strip. But it’s just a few minutes taxi ride from any of the large hotels and believe us, it’s worth the ride. And don’t think you won’t need a reservation. This place is almost always packed, especially on weekends. Once you taste the food and the drinks, you’ll know why. And trust us, we’ve eaten at those high end restaurants on the strip. This is just as good, if not better and you’re wallet will be much happier in the end. Firefly recently closed it’s location downtown at the Fremont Experience and opened another in West Las Vegas on Sahara.
You’ll find the Paradise location of Firefly in a strip mall on Paradise Rd, less than a block from the Wynn Golf Course. The location isn’t huge, but they do have a small patio out front. Reservations are almost essential. Since the place is almost always packed, it’s noisy. This isn’t going to be a place where you have quiet conversation. Forget the white table cloths, this place puts all it’s effort into the food. It has a “cheap mexican” restaurant feel, but don’t let that deter you.
Service was extremely good, especially considering that the place is always packed. Drinks were delivered promptly and the food just keeps coming. Very friendly and efficient.
I don’t care how picky you are, if you can’t find something here that you want to eat, then you might as well starve. Their huge menu of tapas items of all shapes and sizes includes over 50 different items. All of the tapas here are good sized portions, especially for th
e price. If you plan on 3-4 tapas plates per person, you’ll be far from walking away hungry. Our favorites included the ham and cheese croquets, baked tetilla manchego mac & cheese, padron peppper and stuffed dates. But, believe me, it’s hard to pick a favorite here because it’s all good. Don’t miss the white and red sangria. Both were excellent and it’s available by the pitcher. They also have a selection of entrees if tapas isn’t your thing as well as wine and mixed drinks.
No question, this is a must go to dinner spot if you’re in Vegas. If you follow any of the review links above, you’ll see that almost everyone loves the Firefly.
