[review]

This simple little cafe on the Laugavegur shopping street is the perfect place to stop in for an espresso,  coffee or small snack.  Illy seems to have a lock on most cafes and shops that serve espresso in Reykjavik.  Cafe Coco serves Chaqwa, which oddly is owned by the Coca Cola company.   We thought that it had a much more traditional European espresso taste than Illy, which might have been due to the fact that it was a very dark roast.  We liked it.

Cafe Coco is small and simple.  You’re not going here for the atmosphere, but it’s big on heart.  You will, however, find a few homemade pastries on the menu as well as free wi-fi.  It’s location closer to the Hlemmur transporation station is an advantage as their aren’t many other coffee shops in this area.  Service here is also very friendly.

Beans:  You can buy Chaqwa beans at Cafe Coco.
