Fairmont Hotel – Lake Louise Ski Deal

Fairmont Hotels is offering a great ski package at it’s Fairmont Hotel Lake Louise location just a short 90 minute drive from Calgary, AB.

Now through May 5, 2014, get nightly accommodation, plus a daily ski pass for two (or $100 daily resort credit).  We took advantage of this package a couple of years ago.  The hotel is one of Canada’s most iconic hotels.  The skiing at nearby Lake Louise, Norquay and Sunshine is always phenomenal.  Starting at just $349 CAD a night, it’s a great deal.  An even better deal for US citizens as the exchange rate has finally turned in their favor.  Here’s some photos from our trip on this very same package a couple of years back.

Best Travel Organizer – Flight 001 Seat Pack

Today on Gilt, one of our favorite travel organizers, is on sale.  It’s the Flight 001 Seat Pack.  We’ve had this travel organizer for about two years and it goes everywhere.  It’s several good sized zippered pockets one one side and a large zippered pocket on the other.  And, don’t let the size fool you.  You can put lots of stuff in here.  We use ours for everything we need on a plane.  It can hold chargers, adapters, USB drives, personal items, phone, earbuds, etc.  It’s much better than having things in multiple pockets in your backpack or carry-on and it keeps things easily organized.  The only thing you need to remember is take it with you when you leave the plane.  Make sure to check out Gilt today before this item is sold out.  If it is, you can always pay a bit more over at Flight 001.

Garza Blanca Resort in Puerto Valarta On Sale!

Garza Blanca Resort in Puerto Valarta, Mexico is having a sale!  For just $189 per night for a deluxe room, you can’t go wrong.  Or, you can choose an all-inclusive package for just $189 per person per night.  Find out more here. We stayed here last Spring and we can attest that Gaza Blanca is a great place to stay.  You can see our review here.  For a video tour of Garza Blanca, you can check ours out on our Youtube channel here.  The spa here has phenomenal views of the Pacific Ocean and you can even get treatments on the large outdoor terrace on the top floor of the hotel.  We felt very safe in Puerto Valarta and the people are very nice.  The hotel itself is located a couple of miles south of town.  The resort has everything you need, so you don’t even need to go into town if you don’t want to.

Punta Islita, Costa Rica on sale at Jetsetter

Punta Islita, the perfect secluded getaway on the Nicoya peninsula in Costa Rica is on sale at Jetsetter!  We were a few years back and really enjoyed our stay.  And the rates on Jetsetter?  Less than what we paid a few years back as well.  Punta Islita is about as secluded as it gets, so you have to be prepared for the tranquility and silence.  The main building of the resort as well as many of the casitas overlook the Pacific Ocean.  You can head to the beach from just about anywhere in the resort in less than 5 minutes.  A couple of things to note:  The beach here is black rock/sand, so not the easiest to walk on.  Also, the resort is on a hillside, so it’s a good climb back up from the water, however, golf carts are available to take you back and forth.

The food and service here is amazing.  But be prepared, there’s nothing else close to the resort so if you’re planning on a longer stay, this is where you’ll be eating through the day.  You can fly into Punta Islita via Nature Air.  Nature Air runs one flight daily from San Jose, seven days a week.  It’s a small plane (think 8-10 passengers), but on a clear day, you’ll see some fantastic scenery.  And, landing on the short dirt/rock landing strip at Punta Islita is worth it alone.  The Jetsetter special is good for dates in March through June.  Click here to check it out.

Two Great Deals – NYC & BC

You have two days to get in on two great deals on Snique Away right now.

Good until around 8AM ET on Wednesday, February 15 is a phenomenal deal at The Standard East Village in NYC.  Rates as low as $209!

We’ve stayed at this hotel and it is probably one of the best locations in NYC, if you love SOHO, The Village, or NYU areas.  Rooms are spacious, modern and the staff is very helpful.  Run, don’t walk to book a room at these unheard of low prices.  Rack rates here begin at $325, so the savings is off the charts!

Next up is one of our favorite ski resorts in British Columbia, Sun Peaks Resort.  Delta Sun Peaks has rates as low as $79 through the end of the season.

The rooms here are fantastic and the service is, too.  Sun Peaks has some of the best snow in BC, (drier than the snow at Whistler) and a place you won’t need your car.  Just a short 45 minute ride from Kamloops, BC (fly Air Canada or Horizon Air) and you’re there.  The village is compact and everything you need is right there.  You don’t even need a rental car.  We use Sun Star Shuttle in Kamloops every time we’re at Sun Peaks. Great rates and they’ll get you there safely.  But hurry, this deal ends Thursday, February 16 on Snique Away.

Peninsula New York – Over 40% Off!

Hurry to Jetsetter today, where you can buy discount room certificates for The Peninsula New York in the heart of midtown Manhattan.  Savings vary, based upon the time period you wish to stay.  This is a PHENOMENAL deal on THE place to stay while you’re in NYC.  Note that the certificates are only good for stays Thursday through Sunday.  Also, there are different certificates and prices based upon when you want to stay and reservations must be made before the end of February, after you purchase the certificate, by calling the hotel directly.  Even the cheapest rooms here are usually $700+, so get this deal before it’s gone!

Spring Deals in Santa Fe

Visiting Santa Fe at any time of year is a treat, but later winter months mean less crowds and great deals!.  This week we were looking for a quick weekend getaway and couldn’t believe the prices we found.  The Inn of Five Graces, TripAdvisor’s top rated Santa Fe hotel has a great 3 nights for 2 deal, lasting through the end of February.  This hotels rooms are pricey, but it’s extremely unique with just 24 rooms.  It’s also a Relais & Chateaux property.  We’ve never seen rates this low.  We just booked a February stay.  Other places at great prices include the Inn at Loretto, right off the main square.  We’ve stayed here twice and it’s been great every time.  Valet parking, spa, great restaurant and nice rooms.  Check our our review here.  Another surprise find were rates under $200 at Encantado. Usually you’ll pay $350 and up for the cheapest room.  A highly sought after place to stay just outside of Santa Fe.  Here, you’ll find it’s done in a “modern” Santa Fe style, but has spectacular views and an intimate feel.  These rates won’t last long at any of these places, so book soon.  And don’t worry about the weather.  Santa Fe is a dry climate, with the average temperature near 50 degrees in February.  It’s often higher.  Plus, it’s just a short hours drive from Albuquerque.
